session information & faq...

when to book your newborn session...

Newborns are best photographed when they are under two weeks old.  You may schedule anytime during your pregnancy.  I will tentatively schedule around your due date and once your little one arrives you can contact me to set your session date and time.

when to book any other session...

As soon as you know you want photos.  It is never to early to get something scheduled – we can always modify as the date gets closer.

where your shoot will take place...

Newborn sessions take place in my home studio in Penn Township, PA.  All other sessions can take place in an outdoor location of your choosing, or in my home studio as well

what to expect from your session...

These are your photos, so please tell me if there is something specific you want, and we will try to make that happen.  There are no rules or expectations on my end.  I want you to love your photos at the end of the day.

For newborn sessions – allow up to 3 hours to complete the session, although most happen in about two hours, giving time for feeding and comforting to ensure we get the best photos possible.

aren't the first 48 and newborn sessions essentially the same thing...

No. Newborn sessions are posed photographs using props - baskets, wraps, hats, etc, that take place in my home studio.  First 48 sessions are unposed, casual, journalistic style photographs that tell the story of the first few days with your baby.  They happen in the hospital typically.

when your photos are complete...

Within about 48 hours I will share a sneak peek with you.  Then about 1 week after your session, I will email you with a password to your online gallery where you can view your photos, share them with friends and family.  You will also be able to download you digital negatives from this gallery link.  If you prefer to receive the files in a different way, just let me know.

how to use your print credit...

When you get your online gallery you will also get information about the print prices to be able to know how you can use your print credit value. Once you know what photos you want and the sizes, just let me know.  Print credits must be used within 30 days of the gallery posting.

why give me a print credit when i get the digital files...

Because I want you to print your photos!  Too often I see people getting photos taken and then never printing their photos.  They share them on social media but don't get around to displaying them in their homes!  And isn't that why you had pictures taken in the first place? I also want you to have high quality prints and I know that what you get at Walmart, or Shutterfly even, and what you get from my professional lab are not the same.

what do you mean by final images...

I take a lot of photos at your session and not all of them are keepers.  I cull through your images and narrow them down to the best of the best.  These are the images presented in your gallery.  I do not sell unedited images, nor will I give you every image from your shoot... so don't ask! ha

i don't like all inclusive options, do you offer anything else...

there is no right way to structure photography packages.  These days it seems the majority of folks prefer an all inclusive option that gives them the digital negatives.  If you are a print person and don't want all or any of the digital files, let's talk.  I am sure there is an option we can work out.

Payment & Terms...

A $50 deposit is due at the time of booking to hold your spot. Payments can be made via PayPal, credit card, cash or check.  The balance of your session fee is due the day of your session.  You are more than welcome to pay in full in advance.  Payment plans are available for 'Brand New Baby' and 'Baby Steps' sessions.
